Bee Mobile releases Keyboard Control
Posted on July 21, 2011
July 21st, 2011, Bratislava, Slovak Republic – Bee Mobile, producer of Graphical User Interface components for operating systems for mobile computers announces the release of a new .NET Compact Framework component – Keyboard Control. You can use Keyboard Control to design your own custom keyboard layouts and change the layouts dynamically during the run of the application.
“Many people has been asking us to supply a component allowing the developers to create custom keyboard layouts and change the layout dynamically during run-time.”, said Gabriel Minarik, product manager at Bee Mobile.“This is now possible thanks to Keyboard Control which can be deployed to Windows Mobile and Windows CE operating systems..”
Keyboard Control comes with a desktop designer – a WPF application. The designer is automatically run by Visual Studio as soon as the developer starts designing the layout of the keyboard. When he is done designing, the whole layout is saved into XML file which contains the description of the keyboard layout. When the application is deployed to a Windows Mobile or Windows CE powered device, Keyboard Control loads the XML design and displays the keyboard.
The external designer contains a lot of useful functions and settings (such as copy existing button style, copy buttons, move buttons around, etc.) to allow the developer to quickly create the needed keyboard layout. Keyboard Control is part of Bee Mobile iPack suite of GUI components. You can find more information about it on Bee Mobile web site at http://beemobile4.net.
