Suggested Additions To Keyboard Control

Hi, i have just been playing with the Keyboard control and that is working really well.

However i have a couple of comments / proposed additions that would make the control a little easier to use from an end user point of view.

1) User notifications

currently when the user clicks on a button, the user is notified via the button changing to the "pressed background colour". This is ok, but if the user presses down and release very quickly, there is little notification to inform the user of which button they pressed. This may be ok when typing into a text field, but when typing into a password field the user cannot see what key they last pressed, hence having the "key notification" would prove useful.

What I would like to see is either an iPhone like animation - where the pressed key "animates" in some way, or a property of the keyboard control called "delay" or "linger" and is a value that allows me to set how long the button stays "pressed" for - this way the button "pressed" notification can stay pressed for as long as I want.

2) I would love the ability to be able to create a "custom control" dll using the keyboard control, and then be able to register it like other SIP's and hence have the keyboard displayed and operate as part of the normal SIP system

3) predictive text and auto-correct functions

Regards,
Jeremy

Hello Jeremy,

the Keyboard does not have that feature, but I going to send you a sample that shows how to implement a filter for RoundComboBox. I hope it helps you to implement an auto suggestion feature.
Note: the sample needs the latest version of the RoundComboBox (v2.01.6/3.5.1.6).

We will write a technical article about this sample, and we will improve it further.

HI Vladimir

I was wondering if there has been any news regarding auto-completion capabilities with the bee mobile keyboard control?

One of my clients is hesitant to use the new keyboard until this functionality exists.
