Mobile Locating & Receipting of Horticultural Produce

New Zealand-based international horticultural software developer, Radford Software Limited, required a fresh, new mobile-interface design to compliment their leading-edge inventory management solution – FreshPack.

The mobile functionality focused on recording the receipts of huge volumes of fruit then identifying their coolstore locations. Data is collected optically (via barcodes) on various brands of hand-held scanners. Transactions are batched before being transmitted to FreshPack by wi-fi, in preparation for high-volume, multi-shift packhouse processes.

Controls such as TLabel, RoundTextBox, ComboBox, iWheel, TVistaButton, TouchList, ProgressBar, TouchListLite, WaitingBar and TForm were all used to good effect and have already yielded positive client feedback.

BioTek 405™ Touch Microplate Washer

July 30, 2012

Purpose of BioTek 405™ Touch Microplate Washer

For almost 30 years, BioTek set the standard in microplate washing and continues to advance this important technique with the new 405 Touch. A new 5.7 inch high-resolution, LED backlit resistive touch screen interface provides intuitive and flexible protocol creation and implementation and instrument maintenance. Two integrated flash drives enable convenient file storage, transfer and operation. Instructional videos provide clear direction on instrument setup and basic use, and the context-sensitive help system, complete with recommendations, diagrams and images is available at the touch of a finger.

Bee Mobile components used in the project

This Windows CE application depends almost exclusively on the Bee Mobile iPack. There were a total of 21 Bee Mobile components used to produce the UI we designed. The TForm, TPanelVista and TVistaButton were the foundation of the application, with many other iPack components used for option selection, data representation, and UI navigation.

“The iPack components had an excellent combination of functional features and visual configurability.” says Bob Goulette, Principal Software Engineer at BioTek. “Attributes like transparency, background images, rounded boxes, and gradient coloring greatly enhanced the user experience of the 405 Touch Microplate Washer.”, Bob added.
