DISCONTINUED: Bee Mobile iPack

Bee Mobile iPack and Bee Mobile iPack CF39 were two products – packages of GUI components and controls designed give a sleek and modern look to Windows CE, Windows Mobile and similar operating system applications. iPack targeted Microsoft .NET Compact Framework v. 2.0 and v. 3.5, iPack CF39 targeted .NET Compact Framework v. 3.9, which would run typically on Microsoft Windows Embedded Compact 2013 OS.

Products were released in 2009 and 2013 respectively.

Discontinuation: Aug 15, 2025

As of August 15, 2025, both products are discontinued.

We thank all of our customers who purchased the product and kept it alive for more than a decade.

What’s next?

Mono runtime

Currently, we are working intensively to update Bee Mobile iDesk to support .NET Framework v. 4.8, which is the latest version of .NET Framework and which is supported by Mono runtime. We plan to publish articles on how to upgrade an existing application based on Bee Mobile iPack to Mono with GUI based on iDesk.

Avalonia framework

Another option would be to update your existing applications towards Avalonia framework. Avalonia framework (based on .NET 8.0, .NET 9) is in a lot similar to Windows Presentation Foundation and it is cross-platform. You can run it on multitude of operating systems: desktop Windows, Linux, mac OS, iOS, Android, WebAssembly. We are currently actively developing a new product, a package of Avalonia framework based GUI components and controls: Bee Mobile aPack.
The upgrade path here is not as straightforward as in case of Mono. Much of the code (especially part responsible for rendering GUI) has to be re-written from scratch. On the other hand Avalonia framework is gaining a lot of momentum and popularity, as it is backed by very active development team, provides good support and it’s based on latest technologies.
